Gene H. Clark, 73, of Geneseo, IL and Ft. Myers, FL passed away April 11, 2012 in Ft. Myers, FL.
He is survived by the love of his life, Tami (Dittman); his children, Diana (Clark) Schramm and Daniel Clark; grandchildren, Katelin, Emily, Kristen, Braydon, and Adam; much loved sister, Joyce (Swank) Whitehall and brother, Clifford Clark.
He retired from John Deere in Moline, IL after 33 years and worked winters at Publix grocery store in Ft. Myers for 10 years because he loved people.
Friends say that goodness ran in his blood and kindness was in his heart. When ALS took away his ability to speak, he still flashed his brilliant smile to all who had the good fortune of being in his presence. He especially enjoyed anything outside – especially hunting, gardening and fishing. Gene is now having a grand time in heaven fishing with his favorite fishing pole freed of all the encumbrances of ALS that he endured this past several years.
At Gene's request, there will be no services. He would like all to remember him as he was – bright smile, positive attitude, fast with a joke, and a wonderful friend to all! There will be a private gathering this summer for family at Gene’s favorite fishing spot.
