Stephen Eliott Baker, 64, passed away in Ft Myers, FL on April 18, 2012. Born on September 12, 1947 in Bartholomew Co., IN to Henry E. Baker and Nadine Clark Baker of Columbus, IN.
Stephen's passions included music, art, movies, animals and computer technology. He worked in the software writing field for many years beginning as a youth writing schematics for RCA, and then working for Howard W Sam Technical Publishing, Ransburg Inc./Micro-Poise division, and Mallory Industries, then founding his own company in 1984, Baker Software.
Stephen is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Miriam Morgan; grandsons, Philip Wenstrand, Devon Board and Trevor Board; one sister, Mrs. Joyce Foster and a nephew, Larry Alderson. He is also survived by his mother, Nadine Clark Baker with whom he co-authored the book Hollyhock Wisdom, published in 2007. He had been her care giver until his illness prevented it in early 2011.
A memorial service will be held in summer 2012.
In honor of his passing, Stephen would prefer donations be made either to Cancer Research or to the Indianapolis Zoo.
Stephen was a member of the Catholic Church and attended both Saint Mary's and Saint Gabriel's of Indianapolis. Later in life he spent many hours in private Bible study and has gone home to be with his Lord.
