Robert (Bob) Francis Zust, age 73 of Westerville, Ohio died January 24, 2014 while on vacation in Ft. Myers, Florida. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was surrounded by family and many close friends. Bob's greatest joy was following and supporting the activities of his children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Bob was an avid sports fan, especially of college basketball, Ohio State football, local Westerville high school sports, The Cleveland Indians, and The Cleveland Browns. Bob occupied his retirement years with travel with his wife Gerrie, playing golf, and maintaining a beautiful flower garden. Bob was a 40- plus year member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, where he served numerous times as Senior Warden, Treasurer, on the Vestry and sang in the Choir. Bob also served on the board of House of Hope in Columbus. Bob retired as the Former CFO and Acting President of United Way of Franklin County. Prior to that Bob was employed as Treasurer of AccuRay International. Bob earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1966. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Case Technical Institute in Cleveland (summa cum laude) where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and on the varsity basketball team. Bob was the valedictorian of Collinwood High School (Cleveland) Class of 1958 where he also played varsity basketball.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 ½ years, Geraldine (Gerrie) Dillingham Zust; his three children the Rev. Vicki Zust of Williamsville, New York, Robert (Bob) Zust of Hilliard, Ohio and daughter-in-law Christiane (Mollard) Zust ; Sandra (Sandy) Zust Croucher of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and son-in-law Brian Croucher; his five grand children; Tyler, Amanda, Drew and Aimee Zust and Aree Croucher; his sister Janice Meek (Bob) of Portland, Oregon; his brother Frank Zust (Teresa) of The Villages, Florida; his brother-in-law William (Bill) Dillingham of Cleveland, his sisters-in-law, Susan Zust of Westerville and Wendy Dillingham of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jean Zust and his brother Jim Zust. A funeral service will be held January 31st at 11 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church, Worthington, Ohio. A reception and celebration of life will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to House of Hope, 825 Dennison Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215.
